Worked example
One person needing 60 minutes of hair then 60 minutes of makeup, ready at 14:00 with a 30-minute buffer, starts hair at 11:30 and makeup at 12:30 when there is no break. More people and separate artists can overlap only when neither the person nor artist is already booked.
Method and sources
The planner works backwards through the people listed. For each service it chooses the latest available artist slot before that person’s next service, then moves the slot before the shared break if needed. The chosen hair/makeup order is kept for each person. This is a valid greedy schedule, not proof of the shortest possible morning.

Who it is for, and limits
Use quotes and timings agreed with your artists. The final buffer can cover dressing, photos or travel; do not count the same time twice. Team members are assumed interchangeable within their service. Calendar exports use floating local time, with no timezone conversion: open them in the event’s local calendar and check the date, especially near midnight.
Common questions
Can hair and makeup happen at the same time?
Different people can use separate artists at once. The same person never has two services at the same time in the plan.
What does the team break do?
It blocks that interval for every artist. Any appointment crossing it moves earlier rather than being split across the break.
Why did the plan start on the previous day?
The requested work, staffing and buffer may not fit the morning. Check the full dates and negotiate durations or staffing before using the plan.
